A well-maintained car says a lot about its owner. That aside, taking care of your car’s exterior could help increase your car’s value and longevity. So, take a moment to read this article and take good care of your automobile.

Car washing

Wash your car at least once or twice a month to ensure the best paint durability. Moisture can dry quickly if the car is clean. On the other hand, moisture would remain on the car if the car’s surface is dirty. This could lead to rust and corrosion.

Be sure to rinse your car thoroughly in or in order to remove dirt build up. This may leave a permanent stain on your car if not washed off.

Use a microfiber or soft cloth and a gentle car cleanser when washing your car. To avoid water spots, don’t forget to dry it off completely.

Car waxing

Waxing also provides additional protection to your car’s exterior. Waxing your car’s paint every 3 to 4 months is recommended as it protects your car from UV rays and helps prevent the paint from fading. For best results, a high quality wax is recommended.

Applying hard wax preservation is also recommended at least twice a year. However, matte-painted cars should not be treated with polish or hard wax.

Paint care tips

If your car has been repainted, there are a lot of things to be considered in order to keep your car in top shape.

New paint may not be as durable as you car’s original paint so you have to wait for at least 60 days before waxing your car. After this, it is best to wax your newly-painted car every 2 to 6 months. A high quality carnauba wax is recommended. It has a rock hard finish and natural base that is perfect in protecting your car’s paint.

Avoid driving on gravel roads during the first 60 days as the paint could easily chip off during this time. Also, avoid parking under trees as bird droppings and sap could ruin your paint.
